Why we take so many notes

Patients often ask why we want to know about sleep, temperature preference and temperament when they came about their skin.

Classical homeopathy prescribes on the totality of the case. Two people with identical rashes frequently need different remedies, and the deciding details are usually the general ones — whether you are chilly or warm, thirsty or thirstless, better or worse in company.

Those notes also give us a baseline. At each follow-up we compare against them, which is how we judge whether a remedy is working rather than relying on impression alone.
